30 American Heroes Coming Home

My last post was May 26, 2011 and a great deal of changes have taken place.

The Conservatives have earned and won their coveted majority and Sun news network is becoming a successful alternative to the Liberal-left agenda in the consensus media outlets.

Rob Ford has taken Toronto with a stunning victory.

The reason for this post is let our best friends need to know they are not alone.

What side will Ignatieff choose on UAE?

Will Ignatieff step up and condemn the decision by U.A.E. negotiation tactics to secure commercial air line rights or will he repeat his out of step nature in attacking Canada?

1. Sided with Chinese government rebuke against Canadian government.
2. Choose to attack the government, military alleging War Crimes over treatment of prisoners.
3. Attacked our Federal Government in being undeserving of a Security seat at United Nations.

Will he defend Canada against the latest stunt by the United Arab Emirates on Monday that forced a military flight carrying Canada’s top defence brass on a six-hour detour to Rome?

Compare to our PM and government formally registering dismay and displeasure with  deportation of Bob Rae  Liberal Foreign Affairs Critic. 

Can Ignatieff put aside his personal ambitions aside to defend Canadian interests?

Canadian Spirit: Proud Canadian

I am very proud of  my Prime Minister and the action by Premier Danny Williams to ensure a coordinated effort in helping out from Hurricane Igor.

I am proud of our PM pushing for accountability of programs within the U.N. I hope if Canada gets a spot we will help fix the problems with the UN Climate Change Panel and the bias against Israel.

The Canadian Forces were deployed to help with cleanup efforts after the provincial government requested help with emergency response efforts.

The military will deliver food, water, fuel and medical aid to some communities, and repair bridges and roads where needed. They will also remove downed power lines, deliver generators and provide medical evacuations if necessary.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Premier Danny Williams toured two communities to see the damage left by the storm.
“I've never seen any flooding like this. I've never seen damage like this in Canada,” Mr. Harper said in Trouty. “It's a pretty tough cleanup going on here.”
“It's important you're here, it's important that the prime minister sees it first-hand,” Mr. Williams added.

The two leaders later went to Britannia, a community also coping with the death of an 80-year-old man who was swept to sea by a torrent of water when the storm hit Tuesday.

Mr. Harper announced that Ottawa would increase its contribution to a global fund that fights AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria. Canada will donate $540-million to the fund between 2011 and 2013, which represents a 20-per-cent jump on its commitment of $450-million over the past three years.
Standing at the podium of the main UN chamber, Mr. Harper said that the world’s wealthiest countries had to go beyond lofty promises. “We must get results. We must all be held accountable. And people in the developing world must see that we deliver on our word,” he said.
To make fresh progress toward a broad set of anti-poverty targets, known as the Millennium Development Goals, leaders must forge “practical, durable solutions,” he said, and maintain “a shared sense of responsibility.”

Last December when the tsunami shattered southeast Asia, Canada’s Disaster Assistance Relief Team (DART) clearly illustrated the folly of such a concept. Harper's Military Plans Only Please Bush, Not Canadians

OTTAWA, Jan. 14 (UPI) -- A specialized Canadian military team arrived in earthquake-ravaged Haiti Thursday aboard a C-17 aircraft containing a portable hospital.

The 20-member Disaster Assistance Response Team took off from Canadian Forces Base Trenton (Ontario) in the morning and a second C-17 took off in the afternoon.

In Halifax, Nova Scotia, two Canadian warships with 500 sailors and tons of relief supplies also got under way for Haiti in what Defense Minister Peter MacKay told reporters was "record time," the Globe and Mail reported.

The mobile hospital can treat 250 walk-in patients per day and house 10 in-patients. The team also took water purification equipment, communications gear and rescue equipment such as concrete cutters and chain saws, the military said.

The federal government announced it would match all personal relief donations up to a maximum of $50 million, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. said.-UPI
