Why are liberals so condescending?

The first is the "vast right-wing conspiracy," a narrative made famous by Hillary Rodham Clinton but hardly limited to her. This vision maintains that conservatives win elections and policy debates not because they triumph in the open battle of ideas but because they deploy brilliant and sinister campaign tactics. A dense network of professional political strategists such as Karl Rove, think tanks such as the Heritage Foundation and industry groups allegedly manipulate information and mislead the public. Democratic strategist Rob Stein crafted a celebrated PowerPoint presentation during George W. Bush's presidency that traced conservative success to such organizational factors

Finally, liberals condescend to the rest of us when they say conservatives are driven purely by emotion and anxiety -- including fear of change -- whereas liberals have the harder task of appealing to evidence and logic. Former vice president Al Gore made this case in his 2007 book, "The Assault on Reason," in which he expressed fear that American politics was under siege from a coalition of religious fundamentalists, foreign policy extremists and industry groups opposed to "any reasoning process that threatens their economic goals." This right-wing politics involves a gradual "abandonment of concern for reason or evidence" and relies on propaganda to maintain public support, he wrote. .-Gerard Alexander 02.10.10

Looks like the opposition parties of the left have been borrowing heavily from the democratic machine in attacking the CPC. Great Article.

The Libs are funniest when they whine about the Big Blue Machine. "Boo Hoo, we have a hard time raising as much cash" ... But of course they have Chretien to blame for that.

And then when we produce negative ads, they whine about that too. Hey, if Iggy insists on holding scrums, where only political junkies see him beaking off with "I don't care how much it [National Day Care] costs ! We will find the money somehow", then great ! More, Iggy, more.
Stuff like that is custom-made for a negative ad, as part of a theme that Iggy is fiscally irresponsible.

And then they complain about the ten-percenters we send to ridings with a large military presence. Well duh. If Ujall, Iggy, et al want to take veiled cheap shots at our military, then OF COURSE those words will be thrown back in their face, in the most effective way possible. Make the individual Lib MPs pay, just like we pressured them with ten-percenters re the gun registry.

The Libs just cannot play the political game, in just about every aspect, anywhere near the level that Harper has raised us to.

CJ,

many of us have been requesting Adult supervision for the Liberals for a long time.

Canadians deserve better from the political games being offered by disloyal opposition parties.

We need real ideas debated in and outside the Parliament and we need to move beyond the publicity stunts
and staged partisan protests.

You won't get that, at least so long as Donolo is there. And especially considering who he has to work with--the empty-suited Iggy.

Now if someone like John Manley was Lib leader, then we would be seeing a totally different approach, team, narratives, etc from the Libs. Harper would change his game too.

The whole narrative that the Lib-Left Progs say about Conservatives “sinister campaign tactics” is nothing more than a way to create a philosophical justification for something that they are especially guilty of. It goes by the name of “Projection”.

This is why these Progs can lie, cheat and steal with such effortless ease. They have created a narrative in their own mind that excuses it and also celebrates their own self-accredited cleverness for exploiting it.

Liberals are condescending because they believe they truly believe they are the upper-crust of society.

They have told themselves that for a hundred years,
if you are not Liberal then you are below average intelligence, lead by a bunch of rednecks, not qualified to be in power.

The wise philosopher Andre 3000 once said:

"I know you'd like to think your shit don't stink, but lean a little bit closer, see that roses really smell like poo-oo-ooo

Yeah, roses really smell like poo-oo-ooo"

This song is on my playlist that I listen to when I write about Iggy Pop. I HAVE A LUST FOR LIFE! Come to think of it, somebody needs to photoshop Ignatieff's face on a picture of Iggy Pop...

*cough*cough*

I believe Liberal arrogance comes from the fact that their viewpoint is the "received wisdom" of the age. Turn on the radio, TV, open a newspaper, go to school, go to college and all you hear comes from a Hegelian progressive point of view. The Liberals have such a positive feedback to their worldview they believe anyone who is contrary to that world view is some ignorant hick who never reads or listens to the sermonizing coming from the popular culture.

Where to begin? Well first of all, conservatism was the beginning it was the social norm and liberalism was the force that changed it. This was not bad overall, because conservatives did need to change and liberals helped this. But liberals tasting power and having a lust for life and experience wanted to run the show. Ever since we have been fighting these folks, why? Well if we let them run things we know that we will accelerate out of control into the wide blue yonder. Liberals really don't have a plan. Yes despite the fact they are communists and social engineers, their plan is to just change everything and upset all that exists just for the sake of it. Not much of a real plan if you ask me and where does it lead us? Yes spiraling out of control. (real conservative)
