David Chen vs Liberal State

Why is David Chen on trial? Look to the Liberal Government in Ontario. Look to the Liberal-NDP controlled city of Toronto. Who is responsible for over seeing the Police in Toronto?

oops!... I did it again. First Glee now Anthony Bennett an homage to Britney?

Oops!... I Did It Again (song)
Anthony Bennett, 52, is now accused of stealing flowers from a Kensington Market fruit store between May and July. He faces five counts of theft under $5,000. He spent the weekend in police custody and will appear in court on Wednesday to face the charges. -Another Britney Fan?

Are Liberal Governments failing to protect Canadians from criminals?

Would anyone expect David Chen to be charged in Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Newfoundland for defending his liberty against a serial criminal? The criminal was given a  lighter sentence of 30 days for testifying against David Chen. Does this make ANY sense?
The State and Police have become the problem.
The police and crown have failed to exercise the use of discretion in what I would call the application of community standards. Ontario needs to remove the political class in Ontario and Toronto for leaders who will restore confidence in the protection and Rule of Law.
Conservatives are putting forward legislation and money to protect Canadians against criminals. The opposition are blocking it.
What does a small drop in the annual rate of police-reported crime have to do with the fact a convicted criminal sentenced to nine years in prison for, say, sexual assault or manslaughter, can be out on unsupervised temporary absences in as little as 18 months, and full parole in three years?-Criminals Don't Vote Conservatives

Lawyers Want To Keep Rubber Stamp

Seal of the United States Department of State.
Image via Wikipedia
Another example of investigative journalism at work.
Documents obtained by Postmedia News under Access To Information indicate the U.S. Department of State sent a diplomatic note to the Canadian Embassy in Washington last December outlining concerns raised by the U.S. Department of Justice regarding the transfer of offenders.

The contents of the document are largely blacked out, and the U.S. officials are refusing to comment on issues to a specific country.

They U.S. Department seeks a face to face meeting.

This is where we can have fun and ask specific sources to make stuff up, give us gossip to paint some theoretical argument.

F 35 5th Generation Fighter $ 9- 16 Billion
Is this the nature of  Trade that Liberals support? What other trade deals are Liberals invested in order to prevent a thickening of the border?

That said lawyers on both sides of the border who represent prisoners seeking international transfers and work closely with government officials involved in offender transfers say they’re aware of U.S. attempts to persuade the Conservative government to reconsider its position.

That's right lawyers who represent prisoners are unhappy the Canadian Government has moved to end the official rubber stamp program of returning Canadian prisoners back to Canada.
What are the statistics for this bilateral trade in prisoners? Are Americans prisoners in Canada clamoring to serve their time in the U.S. penal system? The numbers must be staggering and the potential for damage to trade as a result for housing an extra hundred people in the penal system must be a top priority for the OBAMA administration.

Can we imagine an American, Mexican, Chinese national arrested in Canada for murder demanding their lawyer  seek return to their own prisons?

From Conrad Black, Omar Khadr the media seem obsessed with specific individuals.

The Conservatives have tabled legislation to amend  the International Offenders Act to make improvements in the reparations of convicted criminals wishing to return to Canada.

Under the current legislation, the public safety minister can only reject applications on the basis of national security, namely terrorism-related threats, as well as a person’s affiliation with organized crime.

Two Million For Crime Prevention: Federal Government Canada

Another program announcement today. Feels like a campaign and winning the hearts and minds of Toronto voters. This appears to be a joint effort to tackle the rise of gang violence with local community support.

SCARBOROUGH, July 16, 2010 — Today, the Honourable Vic Toews, Canada’s Public Safety Minister, announced an investment of over $2 million to support a crime prevention project entitled Gang Busters at the Agincourt Community Services Association.

“Our Government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Stephen Harper, is committed to preventing crime and building stronger communities,” said Minister Toews. “Today’s announcement clearly demonstrates our efforts to reduce crime and make our streets safe. Our support will have a direct impact in the lives of Toronto youth, and will help them make smart choices and avoid involvement in criminal activity.”
Through the National Crime Prevention Strategy (NCPS), the Government of Canada is providing $2,011,566 over three years to the Agincourt Community Services Association for the Gang Busters crime prevention project. This project will work with youth aged 13-17 who are at risk of joining gangs or getting involved with gangs. It will focus on addressing risk factors such as aggression, problem behaviour at school, inadequate or abusive parenting, gang-involved relatives, and disenfranchised youth. This project will also provide resources to the youth’s parents/guardians to help with gang prevention efforts.

Ekos Polling Trends: Crime & Punishment. April 2010

Ekos Polling here. The trajectory is also interesting. Relatively speaking, there has been a slight but significant drift to the more socially conservative position of punishment, which is up 8 points from the beginning of the decade. Rehabilitation also increased slightly over this period. These findings are consistent with other research that suggests that in terms of attitudes to crime and justice, Canadians may indeed be more socially conservative today than in the past. - April 19, 2010

Liberals rank punishment the lowest in comparison to all political parties. The significance is the Liberals have been responsible for the most appointments and deployment of resources in our judicial system.

August 2007- Canadians would agree that increases in firearm robberies, non-sexual assaults, drug offences, violent youth crime and regional homicide rates are cause for concern. These are precisely the types of crimes this Government has addressed through its comprehensive tackling crime agenda. In fact the Liberal Premier of Ontario, the Mayor of Toronto and the Canadian law enforcement community have all agreed that action must be taken to tackle those crimes.
While Canada’s New Government is encouraged to see that the overall crime rate decreased by 2.6% in 2006, more progress needs to be made. Rob Nicholson

Ontarians, Liberal supporters, and the university educated were the most likely to support pension benefits for prisoners. Yet even here, there was still tremendous support for benefits being denied in some or all circumstances. (You can't make this stuff up) Ekos Polling conducted a Poll March 31- April 6 with 909 people.
