Has the 'news' media has become the opposition?

Have the Liberals run up the white flag?  It appears Liberals are using hockey tickets and free steaks to help provide volunteers for the by elections. The news media told us the bus tours were working and the party was energized.
Our Canadian media outlets too short staffed to conduct proper research, report the facts in a balanced manner anymore?

NDP selective outrage on Senate: Where was the outcry from the NDP when the unelected Senate was blocking legislation during the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada led by Brian Mulroney?

NAFTA signing
I remember the Canadian media outlets reminding Canadians how unelected Liberal  Senators were providing a 'sober second thought' and it was their responsibility.
Two days ago Canadian Senators did it again with the help of Liberals who were too busy to show up up for  votes/work. The Senate killed a private members Bill C- 311 that was not supported in principle or in ANY part by the Conservative members in the government or upper chamber. In this case the news media does not feel it is second sober though?
The fact this Bill was terminated has caused a great deal of grief in the media circles and parties in opposition. The media is enabling the opposition and critics to cry foul. The Canadian media has failed to provide a balanced position with concrete examples in history of Liberal Senators killing or delaying legislation during government of Brian Mulroney. Did the research department take the night off? Are the hosts and anchor unable to remember the period between 1984-1993?
Laureen Harper and Preston Manning
Preston Manning was the leader of a political party called the Reform Party. They never won enough seats to form a government. Stockwell Day formed a new political party called the Canadian Alliance in 2000 and was never able to form a  government either. Tony Clement, Belinda Stronach and Stephen Harper ran for the new leadership of a new political party called the Conservative Party of Canada several years ago. It was made up of Canadians who belonged to the The Reform Party of Canada, Progressive Conservative, Canadian Alliance. The rest is history.

Canadian News Media Defender of Liberalism
In my opinion the Canadian news media is failing miserably in holding each political party to account .  Many in the media repeat the talking points of the opposition political parties and invited experts are do not appear to be neutral  when they exclude historical facts to pile on criticism. Is the media not capable of providing a balanced view of the facts and history of the Senate?  Is the media in Canada compromised, short staffed?

The news has become the editorial. The balance and context have been supplanted with opinion.

Wedge Politics: Liberals vs NDP
Long Gun Registry Fallout continues for the Democrats.
Round Two: The Liberals say they'll remind voters in Outremont that Mulcair's NDP allowed MPs to vote to scrap the long-gun registry. The registry narrowly survived a vote on its fate Wednesday. It's an issue with great significance because Monday's event will take place just a few kilometres from Ecole Polytechnique, the site of Marc Lepine's murderous shooting rampage in 1989, which led to the creation of the gun registry. - Brian Lilley

The Liberals did this against the Western rural party called Reform in the 1990's. The NDP are now going to be targeted by the Donolo and Graves advice.
Still, even a poll skeptic such as myself was surprised to read in The Globe and Mail this morning that Ekos’s Frank Graves is simultaneously polling for the taxpayer-supported CBC and providing partisan political advice to the Liberals: “Frank Graves of Ekos Research … has told the Grits that the wedge politics of the Conservatives provide them with an opportunity to stake out a stark alternative. Stop worrying about the West, he’s told them. No need to fear polarizing the debate. It’s what worked for Mr. Chrétien against Preston Manning and Stockwell Day.
In his advice, Mr. Graves could hardly have been more blunt. ‘I told them that they should invoke a culture war. Cosmopolitanism versus parochialism, secularism versus moralism, Obama versus Palin, tolerance versus racism and homophobia, democracy versus autocracy. If the cranky old men in Alberta don’t like it, too bad. Go south and vote for Palin.’ The Grits haven’t told him whether they favour this approach or not. But they are keen on projecting a more activist agenda for the party.”

A Liberal supporter invokes the fact Toronto and Montreal is a Liberal bastion.

GTA Scarborough 6 seats Liberal 53.7% turnout

GTA Toronto South 60.8% turnout

GTA North 54.3% turnout

GTA Etobicoke 57.7% turnout

"There are more people in the GTA than in your entire province. Add the population of Montreal, and you've got almost a third of the country.

You know the way this country works? It's called "representative democracy". That means that you do not get to dismiss the concerns of a fifth of the country because you're jealous because they're more important than the little hamlet that you hail from."- Searching For Liberty

What this Liberal from Toronto does not understand: the coalition is blocking Democratic Reform of our Parliament. Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia is under represented and the EAST  is over represented.

Does the GTA + Montreal reflect the political mandate in 2004, 2006, 2008?

Why do the Liberals turn to the Separatists to save bad policy on a regular basis?

Ekos Poll April 2010 Liberal Party of Canada Maintains Dion Support Level

Ekos Polling conducted another Poll between April 14th - 20th, sample size 2,084, M.O.E =2.15.
Are we going to hear excuses from each political party why little movement is taking place on a weekly basis? The bar graph have includes six Polls from June 2009 to present,  demostrating the futility of measuring the movement of partisan vote or leaning (excuses) . Here is the Post last week. Ekos Poll: Direction of Government Right or Wrong
Here is my list of  excuses: Nothing is sticking, the suggestions our military  are "War Criminals" using rendition, NDS, smearing the Canadian Government, Civil Service is participating some secretive undemocratic government by redacting documents to hide details of "torture".
The opposition does not understand fighting for the Omar Khadrs', alleged murderers guilty of "gun residue" trying to kill our soldiers, relief workers, government official is not a vote winner.
The circus act in targeting an ex-junior minister, her spouse in the latest witchunt, was never going to work outside the Ottawa bubble. The actors in this poorly acted soap opera are hiding behind parliamentary privilege.
The Press Gallery, Political Pundits who have been participating in this yellow journalism for months have failed. They are quoting the same allegations, smears that are behind parliamentary privilege.
Canadians will NOT switch their party loyalties on Parliamentary privileged-MSM spin, we have always tuned out Politics for the most part.
Apologists for the other side will give you excuses why the government is in trouble and running scared.
Angus Poll was the most accurate in the General Election October 14, 2008.
Note: * My graph may contain an error regarding BQ 20% vs 7%. Update if necessary.
Update: Norman Spector, Bloggers have questioned relationship of Pollster hired by CBC.
