Michael Ignatieff: Impaired Vision

...nobody taught him during his numerous years spent in universities that to lead a country you need a vision that becomes ideas, which then turn into programs. So, he is now asking his party to meet in March in Montreal to provide him with the vision and strategy that he was supposed to have before he left the academic world.-Angelo Perischilli

Deficit Reduction Question: What do you think the Government of Canada’s primary focus should be to reduce the deficit?
Cutting programs 47.9%
Raising taxes 28.7%
They don’t need to fight the deficit (unprompted) 5.2%
Unsure 18.2%

In the end, Ignatieff performance looked much like a man trying to light a populist brush-fire with wet matches and soggy newspaper. Since even he can’t think of a non-trumped-up reason to topple the Conservatives, is it any wonder Canadians don’t want an election? Jonathan Kay Sept 22, 2009
