It's A Marshmallow World: Canadian Politics

The widely supported media driven Facebook protest failed to engage regular Canadians, the same pro-coalition protestors showed up from the ranks of the
  • NDP
  • Liberal
  • anti-war
  • Unions

came out for the coalition in 2008. This time the crowds were even smaller than 2008? Why?

It's called "slacktivism," and it runs rampant on social media. And for good reason. Who wants to be the wet blanket, too cynical to get behind a cause?

“The ‘gotcha' stuff is out of control,” says the Liberal. “They bring in all these nerdy keener kids from campus and it's some kind of game to them. They're turning politics into pro wrestling.” The media concentrates on the top, Ignatieff, and on the Hill, but disenchanted Liberals say there is a story to be told far from the now-silenced sound bites of the Centre Block.

It is a Vision thing and a Plan something the opposition Parties are not interested in presenting for debate in Parliament.

We will see further evidence of the canaries in the coal mine talk about the death of the Liberal Party in Canada. How many people that went to the constitutency offices of the MP's found it strange demanding they return to work by leaving their office to attend QP and committees in Ottawa?

Nothing gets done outside of Ottawa?

May I add my kudos, they are fun but also add so much insight into the ridiculous hypocrisy of these bored little people.
Perhaps THEY are the ones that should get back to work but we are witness to something rather significant, BIG GOVERNMENT is their idea of WORK and where does that happen for Socialists and practically Communists? Well of course, the big House.

The folks that work, pay taxes and support this country, 24/7 are not their priority. The PROGRAMS, the ENABLING, the massive CONTROL of Government, that is where the brains of these people goes and without it, they are fish out of water.
In particular Liberals. They have NEVER been about the people or for the people because they think they ARE the people.

Bec,

thank you, can you imagine how much energy they expend in demostrating and creating a sideshow on trivial matters as a 17 day delay in a minority parliament that is dependent upon the opposition to remain in power.

The opposition and media are lying about the context and historical significance of this constitutional tool.

This latest media event for ME is a realization the opposition parties in conjunction with the media are trying to circumvent our constitution by limiting the power of an existing PM to stop the coalition threat.

The decision to use the constitutional tool will be judged by the voters at a general election or a by election.

The media are being reckless in fueling the coalition parties protest groups labelling them "grassroots".

300 in MTL, 3,000 in Toronto, 2,0000 in Vancouver and tiny crowds in smaller cities in NOT a national grassroots movement.

How many of us regular Canadians have a "bullhorn" and a printing press in our basement?

I always say FOLLOW THE MONEY:

United Church - Garden Room, U o T space rentals, student governments activists CFS, Fair Vote, Raging Grannies etc
