PM: Canada has a solem duty

Canada's PM Stephen Harper and PM Benjamin Netanyahu (Israel)
“When it comes to hatred, Anti-Semitism is the canary in the coal mine.”-Jason Kenney Minister of Immigration
We have the right, and therefore the obligation, to speak out and to act.  We are free citizens, but also the elected representatives of free peoples.  We have a solemn duty to defend the vulnerable, to challenge the aggressor, to protect and promote human rights, human dignity, at home and abroad.- PM Stephen Harper
Our PM understand importance of symbolism for local and international audience
“I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true. I am not bound to succeed, but I am bound to live by the light that I have. I must stand with anybody that stands right, and stand with him while he is right, and part with him when he goes wrong.” - Abraham Lincoln
"Since its election in January 2006, the Canadian government headed by Prime Minister Stephen Harper has maintained particularly warm relations with Israel," said Livni. "Bilateral and diplomatic ties are currently at their peak." Netanyahu's visit to Canada will be the first by a sitting Israeli PM since 1994

Our PM understands the lessons from history and will not be silent before the pacifists and thugs that single out  any group, country including Israel unfairly.  That is the role of a genuine honest broker, it took us a few years to recognize him.
Thank you
