Dump Ignatieff For Layton Gains Steam

If the Coalition were to be reformed behind closed doors again, the NDP should insist Jack Layton leads it, as he has overtaken the appointed Liberal leader in leadership score according to Nik Nanos' most recent findings February 2009.

Nanos Research has a video on CPAC Post October 15, 2008 on how the CPC increased their mandate by 17 seats at the expense of the Liberals for the most part through conversations around the thanksgiving table. The trend is for Family and friends is to remind each other to NOT vote liberal. The NDP made some gains at the expense of the Liberals in October 2008 in Ontario.

I have already blogged about this Leadership Index Score (LSI) here, here, here, here.

Nanos December 30, 2009 : Conservative Support Remains Strong

Angus Poll Job Approval December 2009
Nanos Report Jack Ignatieff Tied LSI December 30, 2009

Jack Layton has improved his Best PM scores in almost every region in comparison to Michael Ignatieff. The Liberal leader is either flat or a small decrease in every region. Ontario is the only spot that has dropped for the PM outside the MOE. In October 14, 2008 the PM had won in both seats and P.O.P in Ontario in forming a large mandate. On March 04, 2010 the opposition will be required to do their job in supporting with or without changes,  the CPC agenda or seeking a mandate from the voters of Canada. Without the Senate killing or stalling Bill let the Political Games begin in the HOC!

Update
Great Post Here

aJack Layton reminds me of a Lenin and looks likes him. He is a dictator, does not allow his own caucus to vote on on sensitive issues or else be penalized by Layton.
The world little guy, whom Layton worries also reminds of Chavez love for the little guy, not that he cares but cares more for himself and needs their vote to remain in government by filling them milk and honey that's Hugo. Layton is the same, he always worries about the little guy yet he never came to their defenses when he rail on the prime minister to bail out the unions uh uh, no can do, his buddies are the unions whom he supports more-not the litte guy, who in turn have to pay his unions instead of he tell his buddies " look here guys, there is no way the little guy is going to pay for your mistakes" did he say tell the unions this? not a chance.
How about the budgets Layton went against- budgets that had items for the 'little guy' again, he went against them.
How about the incite clinic. well, this too, the little guy has to pay for so drug addict can get clean needles instead of the little guy looking after their own family. I noticed also that he did not tell the addicts, "fend for yourselves, the little guy is not going to pay for your habits".
Layton supports HAMAS, TALIBAN.
No dearest, I will be weary of him and so would businesses to his orders and demand.

No thank you, if I had a business with Layton around ruling my life-I AM OUT OF HERE.
Layton like Chavez use the poor to suit their agenda but will not see to it that the poor do acheive on their own. this is not the way socialists work.

Even after 4 weeks of nonstop pro-Iffy and anti-Harper media coverage,
oooh and aaaw on his every word, Iffy is still the loser.

And when Canadians really focus, during an election campaign,
Iffy's snotty 'I'm entitled to the crown' attitude will really come thru.

Honestly I thought the NDP should have pushed for Layton to lead Coalition part one. The NDP was not as vulnerable to loss of the subsidies because of their union money, and it would have allowed the Liberals to take out the Prime Minister (as Scott Reid suggested) and still replace Dion.

Yike, just breaking on Fox. The US is trying to find females, possible from Canada with false passports, who will commit terrorist act in the USA. That comes from info from the underwear bomber.
There are supposed to be about 100 of them.

That's not good newx MaryT, nevertheless, CSIS and the american security are fully aware of who they are.

What about Bob, yeah I know he isn't the leader but he would likely poll better than Iggy right now. (real conservative)

I will try to respond to everyone in one post. Hope I don't miss anyone.

If we examine how the NDP have grown from 2000 (8.5%) to a high watermark of 18.2% in 2008, we should understand the how and why. Policies, chants aside, in our system the NDP will never form the government through a general election. Coalitions are legal and if the Liberals implode the Bloc may favour giving the NDP the reins to tack left.

Since 2000 the Liberals have slowly been losing support in Ontario and Quebec (in largest numbers). Progessive voters in Quebec have NOT shifted to the NDP during the height of ADSCAM from the Liberals. The same voters did not abandon the Bloc for the NDP.
Where do the NDP grow and get their votes?

The main reason Jack (smart politician) refused to give up his gains in joining the Liberals and Bloc was self interest.

Every political party operates with the same principal.

The West was already lost through the Preston Manning's Reform Party.

Layton has only recovered from his numbers from Feb 08. (See first image line graph)

Harper's number reflect his dominance from 2006 in dumping Paul Martin.

Wilson,
welcome back I always enjoy reading your perspective. I am in agreement the heavy rotation to push the CPC down is a PANIC by the Olympics pushing the Polls into a majority for the government.

The MSM has done a great job in draining nationalism by insulting our troops and their conduct overseas by parroting the opposition, their cherry picked experts who have decried "torture", dictator and cover up.

Angelo Perischilli wrote another scathing article slamming the opps and media for their games.

Iceman,

Agreed, it was the organizational strength of the NDP that has created an image of a groundswell. Our dopey media being in their pocket were happy to oblige with the meme of a grassroots non partisan national protest by ignoring the markers.

Reminds me of the AGW coverage.

MaryT,

We have a small group of radicals in every country that wish to do harm to the existing system and it is a danger of closing or making our borders thicker.
Some high level Americans keep pushing the false stories that the 9/11 terrorists came through us. They did NOT. Just another problem to breaking the false stories.

Alberta Bob and Real Conservative,

I don't know if the Liberals will follow up with another secret meeting at an Ottawa bar after being outed by Angelo for dumping Iffy.

The friends of the Liberals did a full court attack on denying the "puscht".
Bob going overseas probably had no correlation.
Time will tell how much time the Liberal MP's will give Michael.
Denis Coderre and Janine Krieber were both attacked for speaking out. The NDFLD MP's who broke away in protest on the budget. Another group over Long gun registry. The Liberals do NOT have a tight or good communication machine.

The NDP and Bloc are much more effective. Have you ever seen a Bloc member break ranks?
