Liberal Party of Canada: Unaccountable, Undemocratic, Unfit

Liberal Party demostrates again: they are not a credible alternative government. MPs voted 142-132 today in a confidence motion on the budget

Liberals MP still not back to work, miss vote

Perception:
“Our party will continue to develop the ideas, policies and concrete actions that should be brought forward by a responsible, caring and future-oriented government.”---( through publicity stunts and meeting outside the Parliament.) - Liberal Party of Canada Press Release

(   ) my opinion

Reality:
We accept the majority of Canadians do not vote for the Liberal Party, we have no interest in making substantial changes to repair our brand with Canadians. Janine Krieber may be correct about us joining other Liberal parties in Europe in the dustbin of history. We will continue to rely on our friends in the media, repeat the same questions in hope it might damage the reputation of the current government, weaken the democratic traditions  to improve our chances in regaining power. We will protect the special interest groups who we rely on for financial support and direction.

An election is not required at this time because we can't win one at this time, we will consider entering a coalition again if necessary.

Something the Liberals REFUSE to do:

The Role of the Opposition

In Canada, the party with the greatest number of elected representatives that is not the governing party becomes Her Majesty’s Loyal Opposition.  This party takes the lead in holding the Government accountable for its policies and actions.  The leader of this party becomes the leader of the Official Opposition, sitting directly across from the Prime Minister.  The duty of the Official Opposition and other opposition parties is to “challenge” government policies and suggest improvements, and present an alternative to the current Government’s policy agenda.
Opposition members have various opportunities to influence the formulation of laws and policies, including the daily Question Period in the House of Commons.  The Opposition is allocated 20 “Opposition Days” or “Supply Days” each calendar year when it can propose a motion for debate and criticize the Government on issues of broad national policy.  Members of opposition parties also serve on parliamentary committees in both the Senate and the House of Commons.
In the Senate, the Opposition often plays a less partisan role.  The Leader of the Opposition in the Senate leads the Opposition in debate, coordinates its daily activities and confers with the Leader of the Government in the Senate on its business.  The Leader of the Opposition, like the Leader of the Government, is an ex officio member of all standing committees and helps coordinate party strategy.

UPDATE  TO  AMBER ALERT
We started with Justin Trudeau on our milk carton, who may have missed the budget vote today as ordered by the leader or whip of the Liberal Party.  Please contact us and let us know if Justin is allowed to return to work and do his job in Parliament including vote.

That is an outstanding clip. Iggy seems to prefer avoiding responsibility.

We need to find out which MPs weren't there to vote.

Ha, I guess Joanne and I are on the same wave length...whoops!

"We don't have any confidence in the government... we just won't vote against them."

I think Paul Martin needs to tell Iggy that there's no such thing as confidence lite.

The list is up of who voted on the Parliamentary site. Here's one who did not, the MP I did not vote for:

That clip is from last year. What an arrogant twit. If he was concerned for Canadians he would have 'contributed'.
I thought the CBC person handed out some good questions. Who is she? Was she fired for doing her job?

Head count: from my count, 47 Liberals voted out of a possible 77 Liberal MPs; thus 29 were MIA, as the Speaker did not vote.

Feel Free to grab the Milk Carton and add it to your post tomorrow if you are worried about these missing Liberals. I should note the photo of Trudeau for fair use.

29 is a lot of MPs. That's almost 40% of their caucus. So do we have to go after these people one by one, or all at once? It's like each Blogging Tory should get a name to dwell on...

Iggy has settled into the mode that if he hangs in there long enough he might become PM one day by default. The problem with this is that he has Bob standing behind him and that he may fade into oblivion sooner or later. (real conservative)

I'd be curious to know if the "real conservative" from Toronto is in the Rae camp or the Iggy camp.

Dion voted and it looks like you have missed Coderre, and Carolyn Bennett from the list.

The 29 Liberal MPs that Ignatieff did not let vote.
